Hello my lovelies !
Hope you all are doing great! I am writing this post from Hanoi, Vietnam! YAY!!!!!! I am here for work purpose but will make sure I get to explore the city and the sorroundings during weekends. Looking forward to sharing my experience from here, and if you have some recomemndations on Hanoi please please please share them with me 🙂
On my way to Hanoi, I splurged on some luxury products that I had been eyeing for a long time. I felt I must reward myself for being a good hardworking girl who has super-long months of fieldwork ahead of her in a rustic place, where she will only wear dust and more dust and walk for hours and hours to collect the data for PhD so much so that the feet will have callouses and blisters, skin would be sun-burnt and hair would have perfect roughness to make rope out of them and her own family would disown her in the first glance just because she looks like a female Mowgli 🙂 No exaggeration there , last field season was just like that girls ! So to motivate myself, I justified my splurge, please don’t judge me 😦
Because I struggled all my adult life with acne and acne scars and random skin allergies and what not, I always gravitate towards skincare products. I had been investing my hard-earned money on serums lately and can already see the dramatic difference those God-sent serums have made on my skin. My current favourite is Advanced Night Repair from Estee Lauder. I don’t know for you guys but, my skin literally tells me that its time to change the product- its strange that I cannot use one particular serum for too long. As in I have to give it a break, keep it safe for future use and bring out another one for a few weeks. So far I have been very happy with the results I got from Midnight recovery serum from Kiehl’s and Double serum from Clarins. Also at one point I used a Vitamin E serum from Annemarie Börlind, and Genefique from Lancome– was super happy with the results. But for the longest time I was looking for SK-II Facial Treatment Essence. The reviews for this one on internet are very intriguing. This is by far the most expensive purchase ever for me on skin care. However at the Frankfurt airport I got the best deal ever. I got two bottles of this gem- each 215 ml at a very discounted price. I could not stop myself from bringing this baby home. I have been using it since last 4 days, too early to pass a judgement on this, might do a full review in future but for now I am super happy to add SK-II Facial Treatment Essence in my skincare routine.
I also bought the Mission perfection Serum from Clarins , which is a dark spot corrector that evens out the skintone and give that healthy radiance. It smells subtle and heavenly .
I also splurged on lipsticks, one from Chanel -Rogue Allure Velvet in no 102 and the other one is from YSL- Rouge Volupte in no 45. They are both gorgeous shades. Love the formula for Chanel more than the YSL one mainly because I love matte formula more than glossy. Packaging for each one is so glam and gorgeous. They both smell fresh and nice. The YSL one has a spf 15 in it, which I like but becuase it is an oil tint (about 65% is oil) a lipliner is a must for this one. About the longevity- well by the end of the day I did feel that my lips were still tinted but for sure I could see that the YSL one was not as long lasting as the Chanel one . I think its becuase of the glossy texture which runs out sooner than the matte one. Both are buildable although they are opaque to start with. The feel is super luxurious and why wouldn’t be ? I infact wanted a solitaire free with my purchase, good thing is that at least I got a 25 Euro discount in the end 😉
And the last pick was this beautiful Sunkissed ribbon Blush from Chanel. Its from their spring/summer 2016 collection. I had been using the one from Dior and thought that was nice and everything but this one from Chanel is breathtakingly beautiful. It smells delicious and glides on the cheeks so beautifully. I was awestruck the first time I used it and still am. Its pure luxury of course but little goes a long way and I am sure I will not be able to hit the pan on this before a few seasons come and go by.
So that’s that. Now I leave you with a few outfit pictures. I have not had the time to click new outfit pictures because of work and travel. What I am sharing with you guys today is a simple outfit I styled back in January but never got around posting them because of the pathetic picture quality. I apologoize for that but I hope you like the style.
My Wearabouts: Midi Skirt (Zara); Shoes: Zara- they are in blue velvet, its crazy how one looks different than the other :-): Kimono-style Top: Mango; Watch : Junkers (Men)
Wish you all a lovely weekend, stay happy – stay blessed my dear friends !
